Unorthodox Paradox prides itself on finding beautiful and unusual locations that will both complement and enhance whatever is going on…and once again. we think we’ve found a corker here! The Hollybush is situated next to the beautiful River Wye, comprising of ancient woodland through which a stream meanders lazily.
The main stage is set within a tent in a small clearing in the woods, whilst a marquee will be set up on a lawned area elsewhere on the site to function as a kid’s area during the day, and for comedy / spoken word / acoustic music during the evening.
The site also features:
* its own highly regarded Nepalese / Thai restaurant & take away – the Yak-Y-Da – situated in the old Hollybush Inn
* a bar & cafe which will be serving a great selection of food and drink
* facilities onsite for canoe, kayak & bicycle hire for those who would like to get outward bound and explore the gorgeous surroundings, either by river, road or footpath. Both the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are within easy striking range and the historic & picturesque town of Hay-On-Wye is just a couple of miles up the road.
The campsite itself offers a selection of tipis and caravans, and there are a small number of B & B rooms available at the Yak-Y-Da, although all of these get booked up very quickly so if you want to make sure you get one you’d best get in sharpish! Aside from that there is plenty of space to accommodate any size of tent or live-in vehicle, although if you intend to come in a huge bus it’s probably best to discuss this first!
